My name is Shane Cudal, and I’ve built my career around one core belief: the beauty industry has the ability to straighten someone’s emotional posture.

I’m an award-winning and published hairstylist with over 20 years of experience in the industry. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside major fashion designers, contribute to magazines, and collaborate with celebrities—experiences that shaped both my technical skill and my perspective on what true beauty means.

Early on, I realized this wasn’t just about doing hair—it was about how people feel when they leave your chair. That realization pushed me to go deeper. I became focused on understanding not just how to create beautiful results, but whythey work—studying advanced color theory, ingredient science, and the internal structure of the hair itself.

That pursuit led me to align with brands like Davines and Comfort Zone—companies that prioritize both performance and sustainability. Their philosophy matches mine: results should be intentional, elevated, and built on real knowledge.

Co-founding The West Seattle Salon was about bringing that vision to life. I wanted to create a space where artistry and science coexist—where clients feel seen, heard, and guided, not sold to. Every service is approached with a long-term mindset, focusing on the health of the hair and skin just as much as the final result.

As my career has grown, so has my purpose. I’m driven not only by the work behind the chair, but by education—both for my team and for the industry as a whole. I’m continuing to work toward becoming an educator, helping raise the standard of what luxury haircare should be.

Because at the end of the day, this work isn’t about trends or quick results. It’s about creating lasting change in how someone sees themselves—and giving them the confidence to carry that into their everyday life.
